making lemonade...

Wow---it’s hard to believe that 15 years ago tomorrow my life changed drastically.
It’s still hard to believe that I was in such a horrific accident. I was hit head on
by a *%^$! Drunk Driver…and spent 3 months in the hospital…..yuck! Sometimes
it feels like an eternity ago and other times it’s as recent as yesterday. I think of my injuries…. a head injury, nerve damage, internal injuries and lots of broken bones…I
never had a broken bone in my life until the accident…then I had to go set a record…lol.
Bones that I broke:

 Right Big Toe
 Top of my Left Foot in 2 Places
 Left Tibia
 Left Femur in 3 Places
 Right Femur in 2 Places
 Left Hip
 Pelvis in 4 Places
 Both Elbows

Good grief….that is 16 flippin’ bones all at one time---plus my left ankle and right wrist were shattered in 1,000’s of pieces. It totally amazes me at what the human body can go through and survive.

A couple of things that I have learned in the last 15 yrs…..I know that miracles happen today, and I’m one of them. The priesthood is real. There is no doubt of that. I wouldn’t be here today without it….I could go on and write a book but I won’t….don’t want to bore all of you who are reading this….but one of the biggest things I’ve learned is that sometimes in this ride we call life, we hit some speed-bumps and man do they ever hurt. But you gotta wipe the dirt off, get back up and keep going. Every one is gonna get handed a few lemons in life and when you get a lemon…..make lemonade. Because nothing beats a nice fresh squeezed glass of lemonade!

If you want some good lemonade here is my recipe. If you make it, give me a call and
I’ll come and join you for a glass…….LOL

3 cups lemon juice (approx. 20-22 lemons)
2 ¼ cups sugar
12 cups ice cold water

***Combine juice and sugar in a one-gallon container; stir until sugar is dissolved.
Pour in water and stir. Serve over ice.***
