Yesterday my friend and I went to Durango CO. Well, we decided to go early and eat lunch, so we could get home before night time. The game plan was to go to Durango and go to Mutu's for lunch for some yummy Italian Food. When we got to the restaurant we found out that it didn't open until 5pm. So we had a few hours to kill before dinner time. We decided to walk around the streets of Durango. We didn't know that it was "SNOWDOWN WEEK" in Durango. I didn't even know what Snowdown Week was, but I soon learned. It was like Mardi Gras. The theme this year for Snowdown was an Egyptian Theme. People were walking the streets all dressed up in their "garb." There were lots of Cleopatra's and Pharoah's wandering around...it was absolutely crazy. People moved from one bar to another. Well, to make a long story short--Etta and I decided to go into The Lost Dog (yes, I went into a bar, there is a first for everything...LOL). My friend drinks so she ordered herself a margarita and I ordered a glass of water with a lemon in it. The bartender asked me if I was sure I didn't want anything else besides water. I told him, "No Thanks. Water is fine. I don't drink." He said, "Oh you must be the desiganted driver." "Something like that," I replied. Then my friend pipes up and says, "It's her birthday and she is drinking water." So of course the bartender asks my name and I tell him and he wishes me a happy birthday. Some "Cleopatra" in the bar overheard and yelled and said, "Hey everybody, it's Wendy's Birthday! Let's sing to her." The whole bar bursted out in a rendition of Happy Birthday. I felt like I was in the movie Top Gun with everyone in the bar singing to me.....LOL Then after the singing, everyone had to come and give me a hug. Total strangers hugging me. It was hilarious. I wish I had my camera so I could have gotten some pictures. People were making complete fools of themselves and probably woke up this morning not even remembering what they did the night before.
